Austin singer/songwriter Bill Oliver, better known in music and environmental circles as Mr. Habitat, writes and performs songs with messages of environmental stewardship. For nearly half a century Bill has been performing educational and entertaining programs in schools, public parks, folk festivals, protests, fundraisers, city council meetings, and environmental celebrations of every stripe. His songs bring to life the vital issues of Habitat conservation. Time Magazine dubbed him “The Environmental Troubadour.” Bill often performs with his partner Virginia Palmer, and the two of them together with a shifting cast of friends comprise the Austin-based Otter Space Band.

Here is a video produced by Bill and Virginia about their stay in the Chiricahua Mountains sponsored by the CRANE Fund, including a recording of a portion of their performance at the Chiricahua Land Conservancy FUNdraiser July 2025.
